in 2016 and is regarded as an integral part of the greater Santa
Rosa and Northern California mental health system of care.
Conveniently located in the North Bay, this hospital consists of
144 acute psychiatric inpatient beds.Santa Rosa Behavioral
Healthcare Hospital (SRBHH) is regarded as an integral part of the

adolescents and adults. We treat both mental health and
co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse conditions.POSITION
TITLE: Certified Recreation TherapistPAY RANGE:
$44.00-$57.20REPORTS TO: Director of Clinical ServicesDESCRIPTION
OF POSITION:The primary role of the Certified Recreation Therapist
is to plan and implement therapeutic activities for all geriatric,
adult, and adolescent patients. Activities may include arts and
crafts, outdoor activities, or sports and movement programs.Serves
as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team providing
services to adult, adolescent or child patients under Santa Rosa
Behavioral Healthcare Hospital's care for emotional or substance
abuse problems. The Certified Recreation Therapist maintains
knowledge of, participates in further training provided, and
understands the potential risks regarding occupational health
hazards (e.g. bloodborne pathogen exposures).KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES:ActivitiesConducts group and individual sessions
for patients, within scope of practice which may draw from mediums
such as art therapy, movement therapy, physical therapy,
occupational rehabilitation, exercise, games or leisure
activitiesIn collaboration with interdisciplinary treatment team,
develop and implement activity therapy treatment plans.Demonstrates
sound application of activity therapy theory and
methodology.Provide individual activity therapy as order by
patient's physician.Regularly communicates with community resources
and community partners to schedule hospital groups pertaining to
canine therapy, music therapy, equestrian therapy, and other
community-based resources to supplement programming at the
hospital.Administrative AssignmentsEvaluate patient progress and
document results in patient chart and department recordsContributes
effectively to discharge planning.Perform routine and assigned
clinical and administrative tasksProvides direct support to
Adjunctive Therapist Aides, reviews and signs off on their
documentation.Exhibit a commitment to quality and process
improvementPerforms related duties, as requested.Upholds the
Organization's ethics and customer service
standards.RequirementsKnowledge and Experience:Bachelor's degree in
Psychology or related field with a certification in music, art,
physical, occupational, or recreation therapy.One year experience
in a health care field with emphasis in activities and/or
recreational therapy.Current CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
certification (or obtained within 30 days of hire).Verbal
de-escalation and physical intervention program as approved by the
CNO.)Knowledge of psychiatric and addictive disease diagnoses and
treatment.Demonstrated group process, teaching or training
skills.Experience in psychiatric care environment preferred.Skills
and Abilities:Maintains confidentiality of patients at all
times.Sensitivity to and willingness to interact with persons of
various social, cultural, economic and educational
backgrounds.Proficiency with software and/or equipment (Microsoft
Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and
PowerPoint.)Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize
projects, work relatively independently, manage multiple tasks, and
meet deadlines.Strong written and verbal communication
skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good
judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills.Demonstrated
commitment to working collaboratively as well as possessing the
skills to lead, influence, and motivate others.Ability to work in a
fast-paced, expanding organization.Physical Requirements:While
performing the duties of this job, this position is frequently
