Tests team at Quizlet leverages machine learning and AI
technologies to transform exam preparation into an engaging and
effective experience. With a commitment to making learning both
enjoyable and impactful, our goal is to evolve Quizlet from a
US-centric platform with 50 million active users into a global
educational powerhouse that meets the needs of the world's 1.4
billion students.About the Role:We're looking for a Fullstack
Engineer to help us improve our learning experiences. This will
include making constant improvements to our current platform, which
is built upon modern tools like React, NextJS, Go, Hack, and
Spanner.This is a hybrid role based out of our San Francisco office
hub.In this role, you will:
- Develop user-facing features using React/Redux to enhance user
interaction
- Write efficient server-side code using Python/Go/Hack to
support robust services
- Collaborate with engineers to design and implement scalable
APIs
- Build automation tools and reusable UI components to speed up
development
- Architect advanced front-end data and state management
systems
- Work with product designers to refine designs and improve
product functionality
- Identify and implement performance improvements to enhance
website speed
- Participate in reviews of design, code, and architecture to
ensure quality
- Analyze user testing to understand and enhance usability
- Research and advocate for new technologies that can benefit our
projectsExample Projects:
- Conduct A/B testing to refine and optimize user experiences
based on data insights
- Collaborate with data science and machine learning teams to
develop advanced features for premium users
- Design and implement RESTful APIs for effective communication
between software components
- Optimize application performance through code refinement and
system architecture improvements
- Leading the development of user interfaces and user experiences
for applications to enhance usability, accessibility, and user
engagementWhat you bring to the table:
- 3+ years of experience building rich, interactive web
applications
- Knowledge of service-oriented architecture and
microservices
- Experience working on large-scale consumer websites, with
attention to scalability and performance concerns
- Experience working with modern front-end JavaScript libraries
and tooling - for example, we use NextJS, React, Redux, Flow,
webpack, and Prettier
- Experience working with server-side code - we use Hack, , Go,
Python, and relational databases
- Experience leading projects from inception to completion
- Excitement about the impact your work could have on the lives
of students and teachers every day
- Ability to mentor junior engineers
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- An aptitude for experimentation demonstrated by being
hypothesis-driven, metrics-focused, and eager to test and
iterateCompensation, Benefits & Perks:

Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a
starting base salary of $132,000 - $155,000, depending on location
and experience, as well as company stock options
