ABOUT THIS JOB:
The Equipment Repair Technician will be responsible for the
efficient triage and repair of broken lighting, audio, video, and
soft goods used in various events and productions. This position
focuses on troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing equipment to
minimize downtime and keep our events running smoothly. If you

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Repair Duties:
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment.
- Apply knowledge of electricity, soldering, and wiring
techniques to effectively repair equipment.
- Collaborate with the Warehouse Team, Fabrication Team, and
Inventory Manager to coordinate repairs and maintain accurate
inventory records.
- Perform routine upkeep, maintenance, and QC testing of existing
inventory to identify potential issues and prevent major
problems.
- Maintain the repair area in a clean and organized
manner.
- Ensure all equipment meets Got Light's quality, brand, and
safety standards for events. Take pride in an immaculate equipment
presentation that upholds the integrity of our brand.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Administrative Duties:
- Document and track all repairs using the company database
system and spreadsheets.
- Create & Maintain one-sheets or documentation as needed for the
proper operation of equipment.
- Create & Maintain SOP's for the repair cycle and process, as
well as documentation for how to repair specialty items.
- Communicate with vendors to procure parts and/or ship out
broken equipment for repair.
- Communicate with manufacturers as needed to gain additional
knowledge or support.
- Shipping & Receiving of supplies or parts in tandem with the
Inventory Manager.
- Demonstrate safe use and working knowledge of equipment, tools,
and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience: 1+ years in theater, production, lighting, and
audio/visual.
- Technical Skills:
- Solid foundation in electricity, soldering, and wiring
techniques.
- Networking and board-level repair experience
(preferred).
- Additional skills such as sewing, woodworking, welding, or
metalwork are a plus.
- Education: Associate's degree, CMEP, or equivalent technical
training or certification.
- Software Proficiency: Comfortable with an Apple-based
environment, including Google Suite, Excel, Word, email, and
database tools.
- Adaptability: Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic
environment with a variety of tasks.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of tools and procedures, with a
focus on safe practices in repair and maintenance.

COMPENSATION:
- $30-$35/hr - Based on work experience.
- Sick Pay.
SCHEDULE:
- Part Time Hourly.
- 16-24 hours per week.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below
the waist and above the head.
- Ability to push/pull/lift up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to work in an environment that may be noisy, unheated,
and not air conditioned.
- Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists.
