L4FLSA: ExemptJob Summary:This position will be responsible for
leading and executing the design of hardware products, contributing
to the development of innovative and user-centric designs. The
individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including
engineers, user experience designers, and product managers, to
bring concepts to life and deliver exceptional product experiences.
This position requires a talented and experienced designer with a
strong portfolio of successful design projects.Key
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Product Design and Development: Lead the design and development
of hardware products, from initial concept to final production.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design
requirements, identify user needs, and create product concepts.
Generate design solutions that balance aesthetics, usability, and
manufacturability.
- Design Strategy and Vision: Contribute to the development of
design strategies and product visions. Translate user insights,
market trends, and business goals into compelling design concepts.
Ensure that designs align with the company's design language and
brand identity.
- Sketching and Rendering: Create sketches, renderings, and
visualizations to communicate design concepts and ideas. Use
traditional and digital tools to convey the intended look and feel
of the product. Iterate on designs based on feedback from
stakeholders and user research.
- 3D Modeling and Prototyping: Utilize computer-aided design
(CAD) software to create detailed 3D models of product designs.
Develop prototypes and physical models to validate design concepts
and functionality. Collaborate with engineers and manufacturers to
refine and optimize designs for production.
- Design Research and User Insights: Conduct user research,
analyze market trends, and gather insights to inform design
decisions. Understand user needs, behaviors, and preferences to
create products that deliver exceptional user experiences.
Continuously seek feedback from users and iterate on designs based
on user insights.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with
cross-functional teams, including engineers, user experience
designers, and product managers, to ensure design alignment and
successful product development. Effectively communicate design
concepts, ideas, and rationale to stakeholders. Present design
proposals and recommendations to internal teams and clients.
- Design Guidelines and Branding: Ensure that designs align with
the company's design guidelines and brand identity. Contribute to
the development and maintenance of design guidelines and standards.
Collaborate with the design team to create cohesive and consistent
product experiences across different hardware products.
- Manufacturing and Production: Work closely with engineers and
manufacturers to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
Collaborate on material selection, production processes, and design
for manufacturing (DFM) considerations. Ensure that designs meet
quality standards and are successfully translated into mass
production.
- Design Leadership and Mentoring: Provide guidance and
mentorship to junior designers. Share expertise, best practices,
and industry trends. Contribute to the development of the design
team's capabilities and processes.
- Perform other related duties or specialized areas as
assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.Required Skills/Abilities/Qualifications:
- 4+ years experience in industrial design, preferably in the
technology industry.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating successful design projects and a
deep understanding of design principles.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite,
Sketch, and CAD tools.
- Exceptional sketching and visualization skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Understanding of user-centered design principles and
practices.
- Ability to lead design projects and collaborate effectively
with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation
skills.Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Product
Design, or a related field.Physical Requirements: The physical

- Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on

- Ability to lift 20 lbs.The pay range for this position is
$120K-$136K. Pay is dependent on the applicant's relevant
