Interim Research Associate - Multidisciplinary Aeronautics Support - (184)Location: MOFFETT FIELD, CA 94035 US (Primary)Job Type: TemporarySalary: $28.00 - $40.00Education: Bachelor's DegreeU.S. Citizenship: Required (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Non-Resident Alien)Security Clearance: NoneJob Description:The NASA Ames Research Center Aeromechanics Office (Code AV) conducts and supports aeronautics research activities that directly support the civil competitiveness of the U.S. industry and achieve the goals of NASA and other Government agencies. Programs address all aspects of aeronautics that influence vehicle behavior and mission capability, including the necessary infrastructure for safe flight operations in the National Airspace System. The programs supported are both theoretical and experimental in nature, utilizing advanced computational methods and experimental research to validate analyses and investigate phenomena beyond predictive capability. The objective is to support aeronautics projects at NASA Ames, providing part-time or temporary employees with hands-on experience with NASA scientists, engineers, and program managers on various projects and missions.Responsibilities:The scope of this task includes opportunities to conduct limited scope and duration work projects supporting NASA's aeronautical sciences interests. Responsibilities include:

• Perform aerodynamic analysis of aircraft
• Design and analyze mechanical systems used in aeronautical research
• Model and simulate complex flow fields, including post-analysis data processing
• Build and operate models of flying aircraft to understand flight behavior
• Provide programming for aerospace applications, including advanced air traffic management processes
• Support wind tunnel testing and affiliated experimental test processes in NASA Ames wind tunnels
• Assist in project leadership and business management for multi-disciplinary projects
• Provide project management services in scheduling, workload, resource tracking, and resource identification for aeronautics projectsJob Requirements:This is a limited duration "student intern" position during school semesters and/or the summer. Most successful applicants will be involved in aeronautics, science, and business-related careers.
