Our team recently delivered the new PlayStation Link, PULSE Explore and PULSE Elite products, and are hard at work on what comes next. We need a versatile and enthusiastic engineer comfortable in embedded firmware and kernel software to help build the foundation from embedded code and up to support our new products and features.Responsibilities:

• Lead new feature implementations in existing code bases across the embedded firmware and host drivers, while improving quality and reducing errors and complexity.
• Review and improve code submissions from internal and external developers.
• Collaborate with HW, SW and UX teams to establish requirements, and then own those requirements through the product lifecycle.
• Implement and exemplify modern software coding standards and development processes.
• Develop robust software test infrastructure to support detailed testing and rapid iteration.
• Cooperate effectively with other internal teams with overlapping responsibilities in system software development.Skills:
  • Experience with embedded coding including bare metal and FreeRTOS.
  • Experience with kernel development on FreeBSD or Linux is preferred.
  • Experience with Windows driver development is preferred.
  • Experience implementing automated regression testing.
  • Effective working within a small team with broad responsibility.
  • Exceptional ability to debug complex system-level issues.Qualifications:
    • 4+ years of experience in relevant software development in C.
    • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field, or equivalent work experience.
    • Experience in the video game industry is not required, but interest and passion for the gaming experience, digital entertainment, consumer electronics, and technology is vital.Working Conditions:
      • Small team environment; feels like a start-up within a large organization!
      • Travel (primarily international) required.
