Job Summary: The Women's Care Unit RN provides specialized nursing care for women and newborns, coordinating patient care with other healthcare professionals. This role requires strong clinical judgment, leadership, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment while maintaining high standards of patient safety and care. Qualifications & Requirements: Experience: Minimum of 1 year of labor and delivery, nursery, or postpartum experience (Preferred) Basic computer skills (Required) Licenses & Certifications: Active RN license in the state of California (Required) BLS certification (Required) ACLS & STABLE certification (Preferred) AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification (Must obtain within six months of employment and recertify every two years) NRP certification (Must obtain within six months and recertify every two years) Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients across all age groups served in the unit Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments as per hospital policies Monitor patient conditions, document assessments, and adjust care plans as needed Assist in emergency situations, demonstrating proficiency in critical care interventions Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge care Maintain compliance with regulatory and hospital standards, including The Joint Commission (TJC) and CMS requirements Ensure unit organization and efficiency while collaborating with the healthcare team Work Environment & Physical Requirements: Requires frequent standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and patient transfers Exposure to blood and body fluids (protective measures required) Must adhere to HIPAA and hospital confidentiality regulations Additional Requirements: All employees must comply with required vaccinations, including flu, COVID-19
