Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Emergency Room (ER) Job Duration: 16 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day/Evening Shifts, 1200 or 1500 start time, Every Other Weekend, First to Float Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: - Completion of required modules before start (3-4 hours, not billable) - Level II Trauma experience (Level I Trauma experience is a plus) - Ability to read and interpret EKG strips - Successfully complete a required Dysrhythmia exam within 24-48 hours after acceptance Job Description: - Work in a 30-bed Emergency Department with 5 trauma bays - Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 - Utilize Cerner EMR system - Collaborate with a Charge Nurse, who provides break relief support - Nurse Aide support available as dictated by census and staffing - Participate in weekend rotation and holiday rotation with core staff - Wear navy scrubs with optional navy scrub jackets - Provide care utilizing available ventilators - Collaborate with Hospitalists or Intensivists present in-house - Pharmacy and Respiratory Therapy support available 24/7 - Participate in self-scheduling, subject to manager's finalization, with schedules released every 4 weeks - Potential for floating to other facilities; mid-shift floating is rare - Orientation includes 1-2 days on the floor with a preceptor - Manage cases involving primary trauma and standard ED patients, including agitated psych holds with security assistance - Hospital may cancel up to 3 shifts per contract Join our team and make a difference in emergency care, expanding your skills and working in a dynamic environment.
