• Hold an active BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN, STABLE, NIH and CA License.
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring (NEED COPY AT SUBMITTAL).

  • A hospital near Sacramento is looking for experienced Labor and Delivery nurses for a travel contract.
  • The right candidate will have 2 years of experience.
  • - Unit: Family Birthing Center - L&D and Mother Baby Ante/Post - all aspects of delivery.
  • - Certs: BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE (preferred), Advanced Fetal Monitoring.
  • - Ratios: 1:2 L&D, 1:1 delivery. 1:4 Mother/Baby couplets.
  • - EMR: Cerner.
  • - Charge Nurse: Yes, generally does not take patients, will do break relief.
  • - Nurse Aides: Yes as census and staffing dictates.
  • - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Term, preterm, some high risk. Also have antepartum population.
  • - Additional Notes: Hospital is designated 'baby friendly'. Excellent breast feeding support.

      • Schedule Information
      • - Shifts:12 hr shifts.
      • - Schedule is out 4 weeks.
      • - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
      • - Holidays: Rotate in with core staff.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • - 2 RNs to -OR for C-section, 1 for mom, 1 for baby.
        • - Both RNs circulate.
        • - 1 OR suite, 1 recovery room.
        • - Tele: Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.
        • - Vents: No
        • - Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes.
        • - IV Team: No
        • - RT 24/7: Yes
        • - Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
        • - Tele equipment: Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.
          • Additional Details
          • Modules are required to be done before start of assignment, taking on average 3-4 hours to complete (time not billable).
          • Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years).
          • - Floating: All other Sacramento facilities.
          • Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor.
