Description:Job Title: Chief Financial OfficerStatus: Full-timeClassification: ExemptReports To: CEOLocation: In-person, Santa Rosa, CA, Hybrid remote eligibleThe Chief Financial Officer (CFO) reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This is a supervisory role which oversees the Controller and the finance strategy function of the organization. The CFO will also be expected to maintain a good working relationship with the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors. The CFO is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, risk management, and strategic financial planning, ensuring the organization's financial health while aligning with the organization's mission and goals, by working closely with the executive leadership and Board of Directors. The Chief Financial Officer reports to the headquarters office in Santa Rosa, CA, and the role is hybrid remote eligible. Job Duties:

• Develop and manage the annual budget, including forecasting cash flow and allocating funds across programs.
• Monitor financial performance against budget and identify areas for improvement.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for the CEO and Board of Directors.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant financial regulations and accounting standards
• Implement and maintain internal controls to mitigate financial risks
• Evaluate accounting practices to determine cost/benefit of work processes and identify ways to streamline or automate processes.
• Work collaboratively with all departments to determine appropriate accounting procedures for transactions.
• Manage the audit process and maintain close communication with auditors, tax accountants, Finance Committee, Audit Committee and Board of Directors.
• Track all restricted funds from grants and/or government funding, communicating with the CEO monthly on the balance of restricted and unrestricted accounts.
• Oversee journal entries and calculations for monthly indirect allocations for all grants and departments across the organization.
• Stay updated on changes in non-profit tax laws and regulations
• Collaborate with leadership to develop long-term financial strategies aligned with the organization's mission
• Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation
• Assess the financial implications of new programs, initiatives, or grants
• Provide financial information to support fundraising efforts
• Analyze donor data to identify trends and optimize fundraising strategies
• Ensure proper donor stewardship and compliance with donor regulations and expectations
• Lead and manage the finance team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
• Foster a culture of financial accountability and transparency within the organization
• Promote an energized, productive team environment through effective communication, staff appreciation and other activities that yield a high level of employee engagement.
• Prepare and give presentations to various audiences including the Board of Directors on the financial position of the organization
• Collaborate cross-functionally with the various departments and levels of leadership within the organization to ensure clarity of policy, procedure, and process where financial accountability, compliance, or best practice is concerned. Educational RequirementsUndergraduate Degree in AccountingMaster's degree in accounting is preferred but not requiredCPA is preferred but not requiredQualifications:

• 10+ years' experience in accounting, finance, or related fields
• 5+ years' supervisory experience desired.
• Experience in coordination of audit activities, financial analysis and government funded non-profit organizations with revenue in excess of $15M annually.
• Experience in managing multiple grant awards including budgets, reporting and revenue recognition of each.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Understanding of non-profit fundraising and donor management practices
• Experience working for a nonprofit and/or multi-state employer desirable
• Sage Intacct and Bill.com experience preferred.
• Microsoft Office 365 suite and cloud-based application experience preferred.

Offering:$150,000 to $225,000, depending on qualifications and geographical location.
