Foster City, CASoftware - Rider, Vehicle, and Fleet Operations Software /Full-time /HybridWe are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team building cloud services and APIs that handle ride hailing for Zoox's production-grade robotaxi service.These services include dispatch, routing, payments, mobile APIs, telemetry processing, service metrics and more.In this role, you will:Lead and grow a team of engineers, driving them to do their best work by identifying impactful opportunities, nudging along execution and elevating recognition of their efforts.Work closely with product management to shape roadmaps that set the direction for your team and ride hailing at Zoox.Be responsible for team health, maximizing team happiness, output, giving and seeking feedback, and identifying and resolving conflicts early.Collaborate with engineers and other managers across the organization to achieve shared milestones.Qualifications3+ years experience managing an engineering team5+ years engineering experience (Kotlin and/or Java is desirable)Excellent communication skillsExperience with cloud infrastructureExperience working with resilient distributed microservicesBonus QualificationsExperience with or managing a team that works with production serving, cloud web servicesPassionate about optimizing software systems for maximum efficiency and resilienceExperience with Spring Boot based microservice architectures, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes or DockerCompensation:There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $203,000 to $293,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance.
