Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Battery Mechanical
ComponentsTesla's Battery Supplier Industrialization team is
responsible for critical component development and qualification
activities at suppliers. This role will develop, qualify, scale up
and optimize manufacturing process & quality systems for battery
mechanical components. In this role, you will work closely with
many organizations both internal and external to Tesla, taking new
battery mechanical component designs from initial concept through
into full production. The job involves traveling to suppliers in
different regions globally and on-the-spot critical decision
making.The battery mechanical components are safety critical parts
in Tesla's Industrial energy storage systems. This role will have
the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to our products.

unbelievable things into reality.What You'll Do
- Collaborate with global supply managers to select appropriate
suppliers with the right manufacturing knowhow by conducting
detailed supplier assessments.
- Conduct drawing and CAD reviews with suppliers & engineering
teams to ensure proper requirements/GD&T callouts are defined,
aligned and system in place to control them.
- Coach/Drive suppliers for design for manufacturability (DFM)
reviews and use data driven approach (SPC, DOE etc.) to establish
optimal processing parameters, manufacturing methods, gauging,
error-proofing, testing & monitoring.
- Guide suppliers on development of robust stamping, casting,
extrusion, machining, and plastics injection process using tooling
design.
- Provide input on new and alternative materials/processing
methods for improved design, manufacturability & cost
reductions.
- Responsible for driving production launch readiness, line
qualification using TQP (Tesla Qualification Process) and ensure
OEE and quality targets are met during production.
- Develop, implement, validate, and monitor quality systems at
the supplier to ensure product and process meets/exceeds Tesla
requirements (design, factory, and field).What You'll Bring
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science,
Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
experience.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical component manufacturing
(stamping, casting, extrusion, machining, or plastic injection
molding) with cell components manufacturing being a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and sustaining high
volume end to end manufacturing process and quality systems for
multiple mechanical components and sub-assemblies.
- Proficient in performing drawing reviews, GD&T (tolerance
stack ups), metrology, statistical data analysis (SPC, DOE,
sampling plans, etc.) and basic CAD skills.
- Excellent team building skills in dealing with suppliers,
peers, and other functional areas.
- Strong technical writing ability and an ability to explain
complex issues in a concise and plain manner.
- Ability to communicate and direct supplier activities at the
management level.
- Ability to travel domestic and international - 25% or more at

Compensation$85,760 - $197,160/annual salary + cash and stock
awards + benefits.Pay offered may vary depending on multiple
individualized factors, including market location, job-related
knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package
for this position may also include other elements dependent on the
position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans
will be provided if an employee receives an offer of
